My appeal with Nunavut is severalfold - learning more about Inuit culture, seeing the Northern Lights and witnessing a dog-sled team in action. My primary reason is to experience Canada’s largest, northernmost territory...the only Canadian province/territory that I have not yet seen. Unfortunately, Nunavut does not hold the same appeal for Richard....so negotiation is in order. :)retirementreflectionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03256842249783275416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667076701901214821.post-9729296177934066422018-06-16T09:09:53.713-04:002018-06-16T09:09:53.713-04:00Thank you, Karen, for stopping by. I've also been to Yellowknife and Whitehorse twice each. I loved Whitehorse. Tons of outdoor activities, an easy drive to the lakes Robert Service wrote about in his poems, and a creative and vibrant downtown. My mom bought me the guidebook for that trip for my birthday that year. The reason I never did it (yet), is because the trip I have in mind (from Moscow to Bejing, via Mongolia) ain’t cheap. :-)

And the other destination that I’m “familiar” with is Nunavut. Ever since I discovered that territory on a map, I’ve been wanting to visit. Once I saw a house sit there over the summer. Tempting. But, without a road there, flying is expensive. One day, I’ll get to those destinations. In the meantime, I have many great memories worldwide, and I’ll discover the places closer to “home”. So far, I've only been to a limited number of countries outside of the U.S., where I live. I've been to Mexico, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, and France. I see a trend--most are warm and near the ocean. We've stopped briefly other places as cruise stops, but we didn't stay for more than a few hours, so I'm not counting them yet. Once I retire, my husband and I want to travel all of the states we haven't visited in our own country, and then I would love to visit Australia and Italy after that. From there, we'll see... It gives no recognition for diverse travel taken throughout a single country. When I finally make it to Nunavut, my map on that app will sadly not change or celebrate with me. Your comment has inspired me to search for a more inclusive travel map app. Will you and Kate be at the Muttley Crew Walk today?retirementreflectionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03256842249783275416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667076701901214821.post-54044437293410136652018-06-14T09:48:20.395-04:002018-06-14T09:48:20.395-04:00Hi, Leanne - Now you've went and added another...Hi, Leanne - Now you've went and added another trip to my list!
