Greetings! Back on March 22, I wrote a Spring activity list of twenty items to complete. I posted my first progress update in April, second update in May, and the final update in June. I was super pleased to complete 19 out of 20 items. Signing up early for a 5K running race in September was the only item that I was unable to check off due to flooding and current cancellations of events on Centre Island. In lieu of signing up, I've been running 5K weekly 😁
Today I’m revealing my Summer fun list and linking up with several fabulous bloggers. Some of the bloggers live in Australia so it is winter for them. While my spring activities have been home-based, my summer activities will be at home and abroad. It's already mid-year, let's have some fun and fill the rest of 2017 with light, love, and laughter!
My Summer Fun List of 20:
- Take a trip to Costa Rica.
- Enjoy Costa Rica’s “pura vida”.
- Do wildlife spotting in Costa Rica.
- Celebrate Canada’s 150 with a BBQ with our extended family.
- Attend at least one music festival at home.
- Chill out with my friends with an iced drink, or ice cream in hand.
- Stroll or picnic in a park.
- Go to Spain and explore.
- Travel by train in Spain.
- Visit up to four UNESCO World Heritage sites while in Spain.
- Take a siesta to beat the heat.
- Savour Spanish paellas and tapas.
- Watch a flamenco show.
- Speak basic Spanish while in Costa Rica and Spain.
- Cross Spain-Gibraltar border twice.
- Tour the Rock of Gibraltar.
- See the Barbary macaques (monkeys).
- Play with sand and seashells at a beach.
- Look for dolphins in the Bay or the Strait of Gibraltar.
- Stay fit by exercising up to one hour daily.
It sounds like you have some real adventures planned for your summer. Enjoy! I look forward to the updates. Happy summer!

I'm leaving for Costa Rica next Thursday, yay! My second time there but to a different part of the country. Look forward to savouring CR coffee, pineapples, relaxing by the pool, and being fascinated by the wildlife.
DeleteCosta Rica AND Spain? Wow!
ReplyDeleteI want to visit both. Someday...
Thanks, Anne, for stopping by. Yup, Costa Rica next week for nine days, and Spain in August for two weeks. I've visited both countries before but this time we'll go to new-to-us cities. If it's just up to me, we'll be very nomadic LOL.
DeleteEnjoy your time in both countries Natalie! Not sure if it is your first time in either, but they are both wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI am intrigued that you are working on your Spanish, as I've been doing same for a good number of years. The people in both countries are very appreciative of all efforts by English speakers to attempt their language, so I think you will much enjoy doing so.
I'm thinking you need to add sangria to your list of things to do in Spain - that was a daily 'must-do' for us when there last October. Sangria is delicious and cheap there!
Enjoy what sounds like an absolutely wonderful summer of adventures!
I'm excited about my trips. I've been to both countries before but this time will be exploring new-to-us places. So much to see, do and savor it all in both countries. I'll try to use the Spanish I've learned when I'm there, even just for basic things like greetings, order food, buy tickets, etc. Duolingo tells me "no weak words but brains aren't perfect", no kidding LOL. Will add Sangria to my list. It will go very well with paellas, and tapas...Great suggestion :)

ReplyDeleteKindred spirit, yay! I find traveling awakes all senses, especially when it's a different language and culture. Will post about my trips. Thanks, Michael Ann, for stopping by.

ReplyDeleteHi Natalie! Sounds like a great variety here and with some exercise included I love that. My cousins have cruised from Australia and will be in Canada for the 150th anniversary. We are heading to Spain in October and will be visiting the Rock of Gibraltar as well. I've not been to Costa Rica so that should be interesting. Enjoy your Summer!

Hi Sue! Exercising has been part of my day for so long. I find it important to keep my exercise routine when I travel. I hope your cousins enjoy their visit in Canada. I've been to Costa Rica before but this time to a different area. I really liked the biodiversity and greenery in Costa Rica.
DeleteI've only been to Honduras in Central America and that was for a mission trip. I would love to go to CR and Belize one day. Although I'm from Italy, I have not visited Spain and my husband's family is from Spain! My son spent a month studying abroad in southern Spain and had a blast! I love to travel so I'll look forward to your updates! God speed!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to visit Belize one day, too, Sheila. This will be my second time to visit Costa Rica and Spain, but we'll go to new-to-us places. It's wonderful to have so many different countries to explore, isn't it?
DeleteWow! What an exciting places to have on your travel agenda!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you will have an amazing summer.
Happy birthday Canada!
Thanks, Em, for visiting and commenting. It's been an amazing summer so far. I love to travel and plan at least one trip a year to somewhere that I haven't been to. It's an extra special year for Canada. I'm enjoying the local celebrations.
