Summer fun list

Greetings! I'm excited to make a list of summer fun activities. There are so many events going on in the city, I actually have started attending some of them since the beginning of June even though summer is officially not arriving here until June 21.

With warm summer days, the living is easy. It feels wonderful to just be outside, enjoy the sunshine, and the summer breeze. I know on some days, when the humidity is high, it feels nicer to be in an air-conditioned place but for the most part, I love this season and the fresh produce that comes with it. I'll be traveling a bit in July and August to meet with friends and family, too. Below is my plan for the summer. Bring it on!

My Summer Fun List (June 21 to September 20, 2018):
  1. Visit farmers' markets, local parks, or beaches.
  2. Attend summer festivals.
  3. Go to outdoor concerts.
  4. Watch new-to-me movies.
  5. View art exhibitions.
  6. Enjoy BBQ gatherings with my extended family.
  7. Meet up with friends in Quebec City in July.
  8. Celebrate my cousin's wedding in Paris, France in August.
For items 1 to 5, I think I can fit in five times each. Most of them are outdoors and some are indoors for humid days.

For item 6, my extended family is planning monthly BBQ gathering in June, July, and August so I'm anticipating three big feasts!

For items 7 and 8, we've been to Quebec City and Paris before. Both cities are wonderful destinations. Paris is dear to my heart as I have family there. Every time I go to France, I add at least one more place to explore outside of Paris. We'll see how it goes this summer.

How about you? What's your plan for fun this season? Please share below.

P.S. I managed to complete my Spring fun list since my spring update #2:
  • I watched The Greatest Showman and Black Panther (Total 10 movies watched in the spring).
  • I continued to learn French and Spanish.
  • I went to the first farmer's market of the year in May.
  • I visited the Baltics and Poland in May-June.

    1. Hi Donna - I'm so happy to go to weekly farmer's markets since they start on May 24. Aside from the fresh produce, they also have really good bands playing live music, all free! I'm going again today.
We'll be in Quebec city for a week and France for ten days. The rest of the summer, I'll be home enjoying the local sights, and of course plotting my next adventure :)
Thank you for stopping by. I'll miss your posts while you're on your blogging break but I know you'll be back with lots of updates.

  6. Your summer list sounds like loads of fun! I'm jealous you are going to Paris. I love France and definitely want to get back to see more. Have a wonderful time! I've never been to Quebec City, but any place you meet up with friends has to be good. Happy summer!

    1. Thank you, Christie, for dropping by. Quebec City is French Canadian and the Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. I've always had an enjoyable time visiting Quebec City and you're right, with good friends to meet up, even better :)

    1. Hi Janis - Thank you for your visit and comment. I chose these two cities to guarantee summer fun on steroid :)

BTW, I left a comment on your blog when I read Marty's guest post two days ago. It still hasn't appeared yet (awaiting moderation? spam prison? disappeared?). I feel so left out being on Blogger trying to comment on some WordPress blogs. The maddening thing is it's inconsistent. On some WP blogs, I have no problem to comment. Not your fault, just letting you know I tried. I'm glad you can leave a comment on my blog. Hopefully it wasn't a frustrating experience for you.

    2. I appreciate the heads up! I’ll take a look and see what I can figure out. I am able to leave comments on your site no problem (so far, so good 🙂).

  8. I'm jealous that you are writing a Summer Fun List!!! I guess I should have a go at a winter one to bide the cold Canberra climate. It's only the first month of winter and I'm ready to move on to spring already! LOL #teamlovinlife

    1. Hi Leanne - In my mind, fun lists are 'mandatory' for all seasons, LOL. If it helps you to beat the winter blues, why not create one and carry it out with gusto? Thank you for stopping by. Have a fun weekend!

  10. Of course it's winter here but I'm at a point where I'm doing some planning for upcoming trips and I want to do something to focus more on my fitness. I'm not sure what yet, but.... something....

  13. First of all, that photo with the pastel pink sun umbrellas along the beach is just beautiful. Seems everyone always uses bright colors for those parasols but these pink ones are really lovely. They remind me of flamingos.

Yay for doing so well on your spring list! And your summer list looks very enjoyable and doable. I like that you listed activities without too much detail; outdoor concerts without listing a particular concert gives you more leeway. Great list!!

    1. Thank you, Leslie, for your comment. I like the light pink umbrellas, too. They look happy, especially with the blue sky backdrop. I keep my summer activities general since there are so many free events that I can go to on any given day. I decide on the day of or the day before which one to attend. Have a fun summer!
